Professor John van Reenen presented the sixth Sir Richard Stone Annual Lecture.

Professor John van ReenenThe Lecture took place in the Bateman Auditorium Gonville and Caius College Thursday 27 February 2014 17.00-18.30. The Lecture was followed by a Reception 18.30-19.30 in the adjacent Bateman Room. All are welcome.

John is Professor and Director of the Centre for Economic Performance at the London School of Economics. His research mainly focuses on industrial organisation, labour economics, public policy and competition policy.

John is a Fellow of the Econometric Society and a Fellow of the British Academy. He is the recipient of the 2009 Yrjo Jahnsson Award which is awarded to the best economist in Europe under the age of 45 and is the European equivalent to the Bates Clark Medal. John was also the recipient of the 2011 Arrow Prize awarded by the International Health Economics Association for the best paper in health economics. He currently serves on the editorial boards of Journal of Economic Literature and the Journal of the European Economic Association and previously the Review of Economic Studies. He has published extensively in the leading international journals Econometrica, American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, Quarterly Journal of Economics and Review of Economic Studies. John has held visiting positions at a number of major US universities including Harvard, Princeton, Stanford and UC Berkeley.
