Conference Themes

The Conference will address the major issues challenging economics. Presentations will take two forms: plenary debates by international scholars and presentations organised around the key themes in economics.

The Conference Debates are:

> The Future of Industrial Capitalism
> The Future of Development
> The Future of Economics' Relationship with other Social Sciences
> The Future of Economics Teaching

The Conference Themes include:
> Globalisation and international economic integration
> Underdevelopment and uneven development
> The role of institutions for economic progress
> The future of economic theory
> Unemployment and inflation
> Industrial organisation
> Corporate behaviour and the financial system
> Distribution and class conflict

As well as economics, the conference programme will include contributions from a range of disciplines including Geography, History, Law, Management, Philosophy, Psychology and Sociology.
