National Food Strategy Advisory Panel 

Dr. Meredith Crowley has been appointed to the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs's (DEFRA) Advisory Panel for a National Food Strategy. This advisory panel of experts from across agriculture, retail, food manufacture, NGOs and academia has today been named to support the development of the National Food Strategy.

Plan to Make a Step Change in UK Economic Growth 

The Faculty is delighted to announce that Rhys Williams, Nick Robin and Dano Meiske (formerly BA, MPhil in Economics and MPhil in Economic Research students) have won a joint first prize for their part in the public policy paper Decentralising Britain: The 'big push' towards inclusive prosperity" (joint with Romain Esteve, Martin Kabrt, Agata Makowska and Farooq Sabri), from Institute for Public Policy: The Progressive Policy Think Tank.

Impacts of Brexit Report 

Dr. Meredith Crowley was involved in writing a new academic report that evaluates the impacts of Brexit so far. The Brexit Scorecard report has been conducted by the academic think tank The UK in a Changing Europe, and rates impact in four areas: the economy and public finances, fairness, openness and control.

UK in a Changing Europe 

Dr. Meredith Crowley has been made one of nine Senior Fellows by the ESRC for her research into "UK Trade Policy post-Brexit". The UK in a Changing Europe Hub has been given an additional £3.19 million, which will enable the hub to run for a further three years. Read More>>

Impact of Foreign Exchange Rate Changes on UK Economy 

Dr. Meredith Crowley gave extended interview to BBC Radio 4's Analysis program on "Fair Exchange?", in which she discusses how a falling value of the British pound sterling could impact the British economy. 20 Years of the National Minimum Wage 

This year marks 20 years since the passage of the National Minimum Wage Act – a politically controversial intervention in the British labour market at the time. Professor William Brown was centrally involved as a member of the Low Pay Commission in designing and implementing the 'most successful policy of the past 30 years'.

UK in a Changing Europe has been awarded Best Think Tank covering Global Affairs in the UK by Prospect Magazine. Dr. Meredith Crowley, a Research Leader for UK in a Changing Europe, and Prof. Giancarlo Corsetti along with their co-investigator from Law, Lorand Bartels, contributed a number of policy analysis pieces that were cited as one of UK in a Changing Europe's major successes.
