CReMic Student Bursary

Dr Donna Harris would like to appoint a research assistant to work on a project entitled ‘The Effect of Wealth Endowments on Sequential and Simultaneous Group Lending: A Microfinance Laboratory Experiment’. The position will last for a two week period, to end no later than the 30th September 2011.

Applicants will ideally be studying economics at the undergraduate or graduate level, with particular interests in microfinance and experimental economics. Experiences in organizing/data-mining in Excel and using Stata software is essential, as the work involved will require formatting data from Excel files into a Stata-compatible format and using Stata to analyse experimental data. Knowledge of standard OLS regression is required.

This position is one of the Faculty of Economics’ Summer Student Bursaries scheme positions and is funded by the Centre for Research in Microeconomics (CReMic). The successful applicant will be paid up to £600 upon satisfactory completion of the two week project.
