Please indicate on the Graduate Application form
(GRADSAF) if you wish to be considered
for Research Council funding.
The Faculty is allocated
a number of ESRC quota studentships each year. UK
and EU students
are eligible to receive
ESRC quota studentships (see ESRC
Guidance Notes for Applicants
for eligibility details).
These studentships can be
awarded either to students admitted to MPhil Economic Research or to
students admitted directly to the PhD (CPGS) after having completed a
suitable Master’s course. In the former
case, the
studentships cover both the MPhil year and three further years working
on the PhD (a 1+3 award). In the latter case, the studentships cover
three years of work on the PhD (a +3 award).
The Faculty of Economics
will consider all eligible applicants and will allocate its quota
studentships to the strongest candidates. Successful candidates will be
contacted by the Faculty of Economics andasked to complete a quota
nomination form.
For further information
about ESRC studentships, see the
University
Graduate Studies Prospectus and
the ESRC
Society Today pages.
