CMI Electricity Project
The Cambridge-MIT Institute Electricity Project brings together economists and engineers from the University of Cambridge in the UK and the MIT in the USA. The objective of the project is to promote innovation and productivity in the electricity supply industry as it is liberalized and transformed by radical changes in market design, regulatory regimes and technological advances. Climate Change The Faculty has a team working on the macroeconomics of climate policy and the long-term dynamics of technological change. This has involved building the E3ME (Energy-Environment-Economy European ) macroeconometric model in partnership with Cambridge Econometrics. This is now being developed to incorporate endogenous technical change. Electricity Model Comparison Project Numerical models for electricity markets are frequently used to inform and support policy decisions on market design, merger analysis and regulatory issues. The Electricity Model Comparison Project compared the results generated by different numerical models in order to determine whether the results of such models can be regarded as robust. |
