Cambridge-INET Becomes the Janeway Institute

The new Janeway Institute at the Faculty of Economics will come into effect from 1st August 2021, and will be funded primarily by a generous gift from Weslie and William Janeway, along with a substantial award from The Keynes Fund.
As Professor Vasco Carvalho, the Director of The Janeway Institute explains, ‘The endowment-based funding will allow the Janeway Institute to be more flexible in the way it addresses societal issues and reflects evolving Faculty and Cambridge-based strengths in Economics.’

It will also ensure that the Institute can continue to invest in the unique Postdoctoral Programme initiated by Cambridge-INET, to shape the next generation of economists.

In the next academic year, our Postdocs will be; Dr George Charlson, Dr Miguel Ferreira, Dr Xin Gao and Dr Yegor Klochkov.
