How Does the Market for Vaccines Work?

Dr. Flavio Toxvaerd and Anthony McDonnell (Center for Global Development), have written a new article for the Economics Observatory that discusses the inequalities of vaccine development. This blog looks at how lower-income countries are often left out of the race to develop and distribute vaccines. Particularly as most effective vaccines are developed through collaborations between governments, publicly funded research universities and for-profit pharmaceutical companies.
