Ivano Cardinale, an Affiliated Member of the Faculty, received the “Feltrinelli Giovani” Prize 2022 for the Social Sciences for pioneering research in Structural Political Economy. The Prize is the leading award for Italian researchers under the age of 40. Awarded by Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei (the Italian National Academy) in the presence of the President of the Republic, it includes a monetary prize of € 50,000.
Established in 1950, the Feltrinelli Prize recognises outstanding achievements in the arts and sciences. It originally had two categories: International and Italian. Among economists, recipients include Arthur Cecil Pigou, Ragnar Frisch, Gottfried Haberler, Paolo Sylos Labini and Mario Draghi. The “Feltrinelli Giovani” category of the Prize, reserved for Italian researchers under the age of 40, was added in more recent years.
