Why economics?

“I chose to study Economics because it’s a very powerful tool to understand various phenomena in the world - from conventional topics such as inflation and consumer demand to less conventional topics such as gender identity and racial bias in judicial systems. With the increasing availability of good datasets, it seems to me that the types of questions one can answer using the economist’s toolkit expands constantly. This makes it a very exciting field to be part of!”
