Why economics?

“ I started my undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto pursuing Actuarial Science. After taking introductory level Economics courses as prerequisites, I realized I enjoy applying my quantitative skills to studying the world analytically. Hence, I started taking more Economics courses. ”

“ In my final two years of undergraduate studies, I joined the University of Toronto team in competing at the Bank of Canada Governor’s Challenge, where students present a monetary policy recommendation. Knowing that it is possible to contribute to these important decisions and understanding that there are many aspects central banks need to consider when conducting the monetary policy sparked my interest in Macroeconomics, leading me to continue my studies at University of Cambridge. ”
