Dr. Petra Geraats gave an invited presentation on the ECB's revised inflation target and strategy at the meeting of the European Parliament Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON).
The online event was held in preparation for its quarterly Monetary Dialogue with the President of the European Central Bank. Dr Geraats also participated in the subsequent Q&A for ECON Members of European Parliament.
In addition to the ECB's revised inflation target, the meeting also covered the role of owner-occupied housing costs in inflation measurement. The topics of the meeting were motivated by the ECB's new monetary policy strategy that was recently announced.
The Monetary Dialogue Preparatory Meeting, which was held remotely due to the pandemic, was webcast live and the recording is available to watch on the European Parliament website.
