We do not accept the GMAT test in place of the GRE general test.

Applicants with a Bachelor's degree from an Indian University are not eligible to apply for direct entry to the MPhil - they would be required to apply for the Advanced Diploma in Economics first.

Applicants should only apply for one of the MPhils offered by the Faculty of Economics.

When you submit your application you will be asked to upload a number of supporting documents and this will include GRE scores. However, if you are currently studying for, or have been awarded a Degree from a UK university you should upload a document, under the GRE category, stating this fact and this requirement will then be waived.

If you wish to be considered for funding all supporting documents including the GRE and references must have been submitted by the funding deadline except for US citizens applying for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship who have a deadline in October. (please check deadlines at

Applicants undertaking a degree with the University of London’s International Programme will be required to submit GRE scores.
