Flavio Toxvaerd, a Professor of Economics and Public Policy, has been awarded the fellowship which demonstrates a commitment of staff to professionalism in learning and teaching in higher education.

"I'm very pleased that I've become a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Teaching and learning are essential components of academic life, and the process leading to the fellowship have taught me a lot about how to improve my teaching materials and becoming a more effective communicator,” said Professor Toxvaerd from the Faculty of Economics. “This makes teaching more enjoyable for me and more useful for the students".

“The HEA fellowships provide visibility of our efforts to enhance the quality of our education, and helps ensure that those who deeply care about their students are encouraged and supported,” he added.

The HEA Fellowship provides recognition of professionalism in learning and teaching in higher education, and evidence of commitment to continuing academic development.

The University of Cambridge supports teaching and learning staff in enhancing their practice and understanding through structured development courses, and in gaining accreditation of their teaching experience by Advance HE as Fellows of the Higher Education Academy.
