Part 2B student James Legrand (Jesus College) said “I am delighted to win this award; it is very satisfying for my research to be recognised in this way. Ines Lee and Eileen Tipoe have won the £15,000 Bracken Bower Prize with their proposal for a book about the future of higher education, Failing the Class.

Peter Andreas Nielsen (MPhil in Economics Student) was awarded two prizes at the Model WTO at the University of St. Gallen and the WTO Headquarters in Geneva. Peter received the prize for being the best negotiator on the Special and Differential Treatment and Dispute Prevention Committee and another prize for the second best essay submitted during the application process.

Each year the International Finance and Banking Society Conference chooses the best paper drawn from the papers presented at the IFABS 2016 Barcelona Conference and awards the IFABS Best Research Paper Award. The Faculty is pleased to announce that Jonathan Smith was awarded the IFABS Best Ph.D. Paper Award.
Professor Sir Partha Dasgupta has been awarded the 2015 Blue Planet Prize for his pioneering work on Welfare Economics and Environmental Economics. The commemorative lectures by the winners will be held at the United Nations University (Shibuya Ward, Tokyo) on October 15 (Thursday).
The Pilkington Prizes were initiated by Sir Alastair Pilkington, the first Chairman of the Cambridge Foundation, who believed passionately that the quality of teaching was crucial to Cambridge’s success.
Dr Sriya Iyer is one of this year’s recipients, and a formal presentation of the Prize will be made by the Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz on 30 June 2014.
